Early Life and Education

Micky was born into the family of Ted Arison, who founded Carnival Corporation. Meshulam Riklis also assisted Arison in this venture. Micky initially attended the University of Miami, but later dropped out of his studies.

Career and Success

For a long time, Carnival Cruises flourished and brought considerable income to both the company and Micky himself. In 2009 alone, he earned $7,201,110, with $880,000 as his base salary, $2,206,116 as a bonus, and over $3.5 million from stocks. In 2011, Forbes estimated Micky's fortune to be approximately $5.9 billion, ranking him 169th on the list of the world's richest people.

Challenges and Recovery

Unfortunately, in recent times, the company has faced some challenges. In February 2012, a tragedy occurred when 32 people died on one of Carnival Cruises' ships, the Concordia, which ran aground in Tuscany. A year later, another crisis hit the company when the Triumph, another one of their ships, got stuck in the Gulf of Mexico for several days, leaving 4,000 passengers without food and limited access to toilets. Although the company managed to resolve the engine compartment fire, its reputation suffered, and the stock prices plummeted. However, the situation has since improved, with Carnival Cruises' stock value rising by 20%.

Current Ventures

At present, the company's leadership is optimistic about the prospects of Carnival Cruises, believing that they can recover from their past mistakes. Another successful project owned by Micky Arison is the Miami Heat. In 2012, the team won the NBA championship, significantly increasing the club's value. Micky Arison currently resides in Bal Harbour, Florida, and owns two 200-foot yachts, which he uses as residences.
