Miguel Ángel Angulo

Miguel Ángel Angulo is a Spanish footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Spanish club Valencia and the Spain national team.

Early Career

Angulo began his career in the youth team of Sporting Gijón before joining Valencia in 1995. He spent the 1996/97 season on loan at Villarreal before returning to Valencia, where he played for ten seasons. He was not always a regular starter.

Valencia

On December 20, 2007, new coach Ronald Koeman dropped Angulo from the team, along with captain David Albelda and goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares. However, in April 2008, after Koeman was sacked, all three were reinstated.

In August 2009, Angulo agreed to terminate his contract with Valencia and signed a one-year deal with Sporting Lisbon. The contract was terminated by mutual consent in December 2009.

International Career

Angulo made his debut for the Spain national team on November 17, 2004, in a friendly against England in Madrid. He played 11 times for his country but rarely featured due to strong competition.
