Early Life and Education

Mikhail Yurevich, a Russian politician and entrepreneur, was born in Chelyabinsk. He graduated from the Chelyabinsk State Technical University in 1992 with a degree in civil engineering.

Business Ventures

While still a student, Yurevich founded the wholesale food company "Temp." In 1993, he became the director of Bread Factory No. 1, where he oversaw modernization and expansion efforts.

Industrial Leadership

From 1995 to 2000, Yurevich led the board of directors of Makfa, an agro-industrial holding company. Makfa expanded its operations under his guidance, acquiring several enterprises. In 1997, he was recognized as the "Man of the Year" in Chelyabinsk for his exceptional contributions to industrial production.

Political Career

In 1999, Yurevich was elected to the State Duma (Russian parliament). He served as Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Energy, Transport, and Communications, and later joined the "People's Deputy" faction.

Mayoralty of Chelyabinsk

Since 2005, Yurevich has served as the Mayor of Chelyabinsk. In 2006, the Finance magazine estimated his wealth at $85 million.

Re-election

Yurevich was re-elected as Mayor in 2009, securing 57.53% of the vote.
