Biogpraphy of Michael Tesfudo
Michael Tesfudo is an American and South Korean professional ice hockey player. He was born on February 5, 1987, in Vail, Colorado, United States. He comes from a family with a hockey background, as his older brother John is also a hockey player.
Early Career
Michael's first club was the Pike's Peak Miners, where he played a full season in the youth league. In 2004, he signed a contract with the Waterloo Black Hawks, a team in the United States Hockey League (USHL). In the 2004/05 season, he played 46 games, scoring 2 goals and providing 8 assists in the regular season, and 4 games in the playoffs. In the 2005/06 season, he scored 18 goals and had 13 assists in 54 games.
College Career
From 2006 to 2010, Michael played in the college league for the University of Colorado team. In the 2008/09 season, he was appointed as the team's assistant captain, and in the 2009/10 season, he played as the captain.
Professional Career
In 2010, Michael signed a contract with the Adirondack Phantoms. He spent three seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL). In the 2010/11 season, he had 18 goals and 21 assists in 76 games. In the 2011/12 season, he played 66 games, scoring 12 goals and providing 17 assists. The 2012/13 season started with the Adirondack Phantoms, where he played 19 games and scored 2 goals. He then moved to the Abbotsford Heat, where he played 9 games and scored 2 goals with 1 assist.
Career in Asia
In the 2013/14 season, Tesfudo joined the Anyang Halla, a South Korean club playing in the Asia League Ice Hockey. He became a regular player for the team and scored 54 points in 42 games. In the 2014/15 season, he scored 29 goals and had 32 assists in 46 games. He obtained South Korean citizenship and was called up to the national team.
In the international scene, Michael represented South Korea in the Division I of the World Championships. In 5 games, he scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists. In 2016, he also played 1 game in the World Championships. During the club season, he played 46 games, scoring 35 goals and providing 31 assists. He won the Asian League title with his team.
In the 2016/17 season, Michael started as the assistant captain of the team.
