Early Life and Education
Birth and ChildhoodMichael Darbinyan was born on July 3, 1968, in Armenia, according to his family record. Official documents, however, indicate August 31, 1969, as his birth date. He grew up in the village of Kurtain until he was 17.
Education and Calling
After graduating high school with honors, Darbinyan moved to Belarus in 1985 to pursue higher education. He graduated from an agricultural institute and later received a second degree in law.
Spiritual Journey
Encounter with FaithDarbinyan experienced a spiritual awakening after watching a film about Jesus Christ in a movie theater. Moved by the message, he repented and decided to follow Christ.
Biblical Training and Return to Armenia
In 1993, Darbinyan traveled to Riga, Latvia, to study at the Bible school. After completing his spiritual education, he returned to Armenia, where he faced initial resistance from his family. However, over time, his family came to accept his faith.
Ministry in Latvia and Russia
Ordained Pastor and MarriageIn August 1993, Darbinyan returned to Riga and became an assistant to Pastor Sergei Daniltz. On September 26, 1993, he married Lydia.
Mission to Russia
After six years of ministry in Latvia, Darbinyan was sent to Blagoveshchensk, Russia, where he has served as pastor of the New Generation church to this day.
Family and Personal Life
Marriage and ChildrenMichael Darbinyan is married to Lydia, and they have five children: two sons (Pasho and Aram) and three daughters (Violetta, Avigea, and Mikaela).
