Early Life and Family
On September 7, 1993, in the small village of Chapaev, Kazakhstan, Kanat Zhumaev welcomed his firstborn son, Azamat. A year later, on December 30, 1994, his beloved wife gave birth to their second son, Meirymbek.
Meirymbek's unique name reflects his festive birthdate. "Meirym" signifies "celebration or joy," while "bek" translates to "lord or prince." Both brothers shared a close bond and pursued music as their passion. Azamat became a soloist in the group "BatysStar," while Meirymbek excelled in solo performances.
Education and Musical Beginnings
After completing high school, Meirymbek enrolled in West Kazakhstan University named after Makhambet Utemisov in the city of Uralsk. During his university years, he began writing and recording music at DDRecords studio.
Career Breakdown
In 2017, after graduating university, Meirymbek returned to his hometown and worked as an accountant. However, his love for music prevailed, and he became an official artist under the label DDRecords, led by Daniyar Rakmetzhanov.
Solo Success
In 2018, Miko released his debut single, "So Icem," featuring Raim and Ramz. The same year, he collaborated with Raim & Artur on their track "Dogola."
In 2019, Miko's breakout hit, "Devochka v Trende" ("Girl in Trend"), launched his career into the spotlight. The song became a top 20 hit in the CIS region and dominated Russian music charts and TikTok, earning quadruple platinum status by July 2020.
Collaborations and Recognition
Alongside his solo work, Miko performed in concerts throughout Kazakhstan, Moscow, and the Russian cities of Stavropol and Krasnodar. He collaborated with AdiL on hit songs like "Nalivai Vina" and "Lunatika."
Miko also participated in various vocal competitions and showcases, becoming a finalist in the republican project "CoverSHY" for young performers.
Recent Releases
In 2020, Miko continued to expand his discography with collaborations with AdiL, including "Retro," "Khamka," and "Like." He also released the animated music video for "Assalamualaikum," a duet with Kally Oscar (Temirlan Kaliaskarov), through the DDRecords YouTube channel.
