Millie Brady: A Versatile British Actress

Early Life and Education

Millie Brady was born Camilla Eve Brady on December 24, 1993, in Bracknell, Berkshire, England. The youngest of two daughters to Peter and Carole Brady, she shared a close bond with her older sister, Caroline. Growing up, she moved frequently before settling in Ascot, near London.

Her interest in theatre sparked during her time at an all-girls boarding school, where she participated in dramatic productions. Aspiring to be an actress, she began modeling to fund her move to London, hoping to pursue her career professionally.

Modeling Career

Despite her petite stature for modeling (170 cm), Brady achieved success as a runway model, gracing magazine covers and attracting the attention of filmmakers even before her cinematic debut. She later became a muse for Italian fashion house Miu Miu, continuing their collaboration after officially retiring from modeling.

Film and Television Career

Brady's on-screen debut came in 2014 with the period drama series "Mr. Selfridge," where she portrayed Violet Selfridge. Her subsequent roles included Joan Collins in the crime drama "Legend" and Mary Bennet in the action-comedy "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."

Her breakout role came as Princess, and later Queen Æthelflaed of Mercia, in the historical drama series "The Last Kingdom," based on Bernard Cornwell's "Saxon Stories" novels. This character embodied the strong and assertive female archetype she had always sought to portray.

Brady continued her exploration of powerful women in the fantasy adventure film "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" as Princess Catia. Despite the film's box office failure, she received critical acclaim for her performance.

Other notable roles in Brady's filmography include the musical drama "Teen Spirit," the political thriller "Roadkill," and two episodes of the acclaimed mini-series "The Queen's Gambit." In 2022, she had a recurring role as Eliza in the psychological thriller series "Surface."

Personal Life

Millie Brady's personal life has garnered significant public attention. After gaining fame, she developed a protective stance against tabloid scrutiny. Rumors of a romance with One Direction singer Harry Styles in 2013 proved to be unfounded.

Currently, she is in a relationship with fellow actor Charlie Palmer Rothwell, the son of "EastEnders" star Patsy Palmer and boxer Alfie Rothwell. The couple has been dating since 2018 and regularly share affectionate photos on Brady's social media.

Brady is also a devoted dog owner to her beloved pet Luna, who often makes appearances on her social media. Luna has become an unexpected assistant in her work, as Brady finds walking her in the mornings an ideal time to memorize her lines.

Brady finds solace in her home in North London, which she shares with her sister. She maintains a close relationship with her parents, particularly her mother, who she credits with her nurturing upbringing and unwavering support.

Current Projects

Millie Brady has several upcoming projects lined up, including the horror film "Escape Room: Insomnia," where she stars alongside Pollyanna McIntosh, Akshay Kumar, and Dermot Mulroney. The Russian premiere of the film, which was completed in 2022, took place in March 2024.
