Biography of Mills Lane
Early LifeMills Bii Lane III was born on November 12, 1936 in Savannah, Georgia, USA. He grew up in a respected and wealthy family, with his grandfather being the founder of a major American bank. Many of Mills' relatives held influential positions in the banking industry in Georgia, including his uncle who was the president of the Citizens & Southern National Bank. Despite his high social position and promising prospects, Mills Lane did not want to follow in his ancestors' footsteps. He did not enjoy banking and wanted something more exciting and interesting.

Military Service and Education
In search of adventure, after finishing school, Mills Lane joined the navy. During his service, he developed a serious interest in sports, particularly boxing. He became a proficient boxer capable of achieving great things. After leaving the military, Mills' parents insisted that he pursue higher education. He graduated from the University of Nevada, while continuing to train and win several prestigious boxing titles.
Legal Career
After obtaining a business degree from the University of Nevada, Mills Lane decided to pursue a second higher education. A few years later, he earned an excellent law degree and held the position of prosecutor for the Reno district. However, Mills Lane's true passion lay in the world of boxing.
Boxing Career
Mills Lane began his career as a boxing referee. Over time, he became one of the most authoritative judges, known for making fair and reasonable decisions. In June 1997, Mills Lane presided over one of his most memorable and controversial matches. On June 28th, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield faced each other in the ring. Many anticipated an exciting and thrilling fight, but it became infamous for Tyson biting off a piece of Holyfield's ear. Mills Lane faced the difficult task of deciding how to punish the offender, ultimately disqualifying Tyson.
Television Personality
Mills Lane is also a prominent television personality. He created and hosted his own show called "Judge Mills Lane," which aired from 1998 to 2001. In 1998, Lane decided to retire from refereeing boxing matches, largely due to a sudden decline in his health. Currently, Mills Lane resides in New York City.
