Kevin Johnson is an American professional boxer in the heavyweight division. He began his amateur career at the age of 18, winning the "Golden Gloves" tournament in the state of New Jersey. His professional career started on February 13, 2003, with a technical knockout victory in the fourth round against his fellow countryman Stanford Brisbane. In his third fight, Johnson faced the much more experienced Uzbekistani boxer Timur Ibragimov and managed to secure a draw.

Despite starting his professional career at a relatively mature age, Johnson has only had 19 fights in the span of five years. However, the level of opposition he has faced has been deemed significant enough to include him in the list of the most promising heavyweight boxers. While Johnson may not possess a devastating punch, his reaction time and speed in the ring are admirable, and he often uses this advantage to toy with his opponents.
