Milutin Ivković: A Distinguished Yugoslav Footballer and Coach

Early Life and Club Career

Milutin Ivković was born in Šabac, Yugoslavia, in 1906. His football journey began with FK Mačva Šabac before he moved to Belgrade and joined BSK (now OFK Belgrade) in 1926. With BSK, he played over 500 matches and contributed to the club's four Yugoslav championship titles and a third-place finish in the 1927 Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes Championship.

International Career

Ivković made his international debut for Yugoslavia in 1927 and went on to represent the country 52 times. He participated in the 1928 Olympics and the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930. His international tenure lasted until 1936.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Milutin Ivković embraced a coaching career. From 1946 to 1954, he led the Yugoslav national team, guiding them to the finals of the 1948 Olympics and the 1952 Olympics. In both tournaments, Yugoslavia finished as silver medalists. Ivković also oversaw Yugoslavia's participation in the 1950 FIFA World Cup.
