Translator of Russian Literature into Catalan

Education and Training

Jordi Caball completed his studies in Slavic languages at the University of Barcelona and undertook an internship at Moscow State University.

Catalan Translations

Caball has translated several significant works from Russian into Catalan, including:

- "Notes from Underground" by Fyodor Dostoevsky ("Apunts del subsòl", 2002)

- "Dersu Uzala" by Vladimir Arsenyev (2006)

- "Little Anthology of Daniil Kharms" ("Petita antologia de Daniïl Kharms", 2007)

- "Chevengur" by Andrey Platonov

- "The Zone" by Sergei Dovlatov
Theatre and Music

In 2006, Caball's Catalan translation of Maxim Gorky's play "Summerfolk" ("Els estiuejants") was staged at Barcelona's Teatre Lliure.

Spanish Translation

Caball also translated Vladimir Arsenyev's "In the Mountains of the Sikhote-Alin" into Spanish ("En las montañas de la Sijotë-Alín", 2007).

Musical Career

Beyond his literary work, Caball is a singer and guitarist for the band Entartete Kunst, which performs songs in Russian.
