The Biography of Mirage

Introduction
Mirage is a popular pop group that has been performing successfully in numerous clubs and concert venues in cities across Russia and abroad for many years. Throughout their existence, the group has had the opportunity to work with many talented individuals who have contributed to its unique and interesting sound. While the public typically recognizes the lead singers as the face of the group, Mirage values the work of all its members, including costume designers and other behind-the-scenes contributors.

The Legends
Alexey Gorbashov, the legendary guitarist of Mirage, joined the group in 1988 and remained until 1999. During this time, he experienced both overwhelming success and scandal. Rita Sukhankina (Margareta Maruna), with her beautiful voice, gained equal fame to the lead singers of Mirage, despite only working in the studio periodically. Natasha Gulkina was the group's first lead singer from 1986 to the mid-1988, and her image became the standard for many fans. However, after her departure, the group struggled to find a replacement who could meet the fans' expectations.

Departures and Solo Careers
In the late 1980s, several lead singers left the group to pursue solo careers. These included Svetlana Razina, who had been with the group since 1987, Natalia Vetlitskaya, Inna Smirnova, Irina Saltikova, and Tanya Ovsienko. Each of them made a successful transition to a solo career after leaving Mirage. In 1991, Mirage decided to take a break from the music scene, feeling that they had outgrown their previous sound and wanting to pursue more serious and meaningful endeavors. Although the group continued to perform with lead singer Katya Boldysheva and released albums, their existence became more of a hobby rather than a serious commitment. However, recognizing the timeless appeal of Mirage's songs and the need for their kindness, romance, and sincerity in an increasingly restless world, the group decided to give Mirage a fresh start.

The New Lineup
In 2000, Mirage introduced a new lineup consisting of four lead singers: Lena Kozlova, Oksana Varvinskaya, Marina Kulinish, and Olesia Kutuzova. While warmly received by the public, the group felt it was important to maintain the familiar sound in combination with their new image. They aimed to avoid nostalgia and irony, which they believed would undermine the deep emotional connection that the music held for many people. As a result, Mirage temporarily suspended their activities to reinvent themselves with a new sound and new songs, while still preserving their signature style.

The Return of Svetlana Razina
In January 2011, Natalia Gulkina's contract expired, and she officially left the group. She was replaced by Svetlana Razina, who had been instrumental in the early days of Mirage and had helped shape the group's sound. Svetlana, who is also the author of several of Mirage's hits, including "Novy Geroy," "Ya Ne Shuchu," and "Gde Ya," brought a new energy and excitement to the group. With her participation, Mirage managed to maintain their classic sound while infusing it with vibrant new colors.

The Revival
Mirage has already performed their first concerts with the new lineup, and the return of Svetlana Razina has been met with great excitement and warmth from the audience. Many fans have noted that Mirage's performances have gained a fresh sound and energy. Svetlana has brought a new level of excitement and celebration to the group.
