Early Life and Career
Emmanuel Adebayor was born on February 26, 1984, in Lomé, Togo. He began his football career at Étoile Filante de Lomé, a local club in Togo.
Club Career
In 1999, Adebayor joined Tunisian club Bizertin. A year later, he moved to Parma in Italy but did not make any appearances for the club.
After a brief stint with Arsenal in France, Adebayor moved to Swiss club Servette in 2003. During the 2003/2004 season, he scored 19 goals in 35 matches, earning him the title of Togo's Best Player Abroad.
French Success
From 2005 to 2008, Adebayor played for French club Guingamp. He briefly returned to Arsenal in 2007 before rejoining Guingamp.
International Career
Adebayor played a pivotal role in Togo's historic qualification for the 2006 World Cup. He scored the team's first-ever World Cup goal in a losing match against South Korea.
Adebayor also represented Togo in the Africa Cup of Nations in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2006. He scored a memorable goal against Ghana in the 1998 tournament, securing Togo's first victory in the competition.
