Early Life and Career

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, on December 15, 1993. At an early age, he relocated with his family to Southampton, where he began his football journey.

Southampton

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Southampton's academy in 2000 and signed his first professional contract in 2010. At the age of 16 years and 199 days, he made his debut for the Saints in March 2010, becoming their second-youngest Premier League player ever. He scored his maiden goal for Southampton against Bournemouth in the League Cup in August 2010.

Arsenal

In August 2011, Oxlade-Chamberlain signed for Arsenal for a reported fee of £12 million, potentially rising to £15 million. He made his Premier League debut in a 2-8 defeat to Manchester United, coming on as a substitute in the 62nd minute. His full debut came in the League Cup against Shrewsbury Town, where he scored a goal and received rave reviews.

Oxlade-Chamberlain became the youngest Arsenal player to score in the Champions League when he netted against Borussia Dortmund in September 2011. He also became the youngest Englishman to score in the competition.

After initially struggling for regular playing time, he established himself as a key player for Arsenal during the 2011-12 season. He scored his first Premier League goals in a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in February 2012.

Liverpool

In August 2017, Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool for a fee of £35 million.

International Career

Oxlade-Chamberlain made his England U18 debut in 2010. He was called up to the U19 team in 2011, but was subsequently promoted to the U21s, where he made his debut against Italy.

He made his senior debut for England in a friendly against Norway in May 2012. He scored his first international goal in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino in October 2012, becoming the first father-and-son duo to score for England (along with his father, Mark Chamberlain).

Family

Oxlade-Chamberlain comes from a footballing family. His father, Mark Chamberlain, and uncle, Neville Chamberlain, were also professional footballers.
