Early Life and Education:

Dmitry Monatik was born on April 1, 1986, in Lutsk, Ukrainian SSR. As a teenager, he became fascinated with breakdancing and joined the local crew "DBS Crew." Despite his love for dance, he pursued a formal education in law at the Volyn Institute in Lutsk.

Break into the Music Industry:

Although Monatik did not receive any formal musical training, his talent and determination led him to audition for the Ukrainian TV show "Fabrika Zvyozd 2" in 2008. Though he did not pass, the show's producer, Nataliya Mogilevskaya, invited him to join her ballet. Shortly thereafter, he became the show's administrator.

Monatique and Early Success:

In 2009, Monatik co-founded the musical group "Monatique" with Mykola Boichenko. The band performed in clubs and released their debut music video, "TaiUletayu," in 2011. Monatik's songwriting abilities caught the attention of popular artists such as Svetlana Loboda, Anna Sedokova, and Dima Bilan, for whom he wrote songs.

Rise to Stardom:

Monatik's breakthrough came in 2016 when he became a mentor on the Ukrainian vocal talent show "The Voice Kids." He also continued to develop his solo career, releasing hit singles that propelled him to the forefront of the Ukrainian music scene. In 2017, he opened the Eurovision Song Contest with his song "Spinning."
