Early Life and Education

Nadir Kagramanov was born on May 24, 1945, in the village of Uруд in the Sisian district of the Armenian SSR. After completing high school in 1963, he enrolled in the physics department of Azerbaijan State University.

Academic Career

After completing his military service, Kagramanov began his academic career as a laboratory assistant at Azerbaijan State University in 1969. In 1972, he became a teacher in the department of general physics. In 1976, he defended his Ph.D. dissertation on "Obtaining and Investigating Certain Physical Properties of InS Monocrystals."

Later, Kagramanov rose through the ranks, becoming a docent in 1977 and a professor in 1986. He received his Doctor of Physics and Mathematics from the Institute of Radioelectronics of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1986 with a dissertation on "Obtaining New Triple Semiconductor Compounds of Type A3IB5IIIC9IV."

Leadership in Higher Education

On May 31, 2000, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan appointed Kagramanov as the Rector of Sumgayit State University. During his tenure, he contributed significantly to the development of the university and its academic reputation.

Research and Publications

Nadir Kagramanov is a renowned scientist with over 270 published articles, 7 monographs, and 12 books to his credit. His research primarily focuses on the field of optoelectronics and semiconductors.

Mentorship and Teaching

As a dedicated educator, Kagramanov has supervised the successful completion of 8 doctoral dissertations. He is also known for his engaging lectures in quantum electronics and general physics.
