Early Life and Club Career
Naïm Sliti, a Tunisian midfielder, was born in Marseille, France, to Tunisian parents. He began his footballing journey at the academies of Aubagne and Marseille before joining Sedan in 2007. In 2010, he debuted for Sedan II and became a regular in the first team from the 2011/12 season onwards, playing 48 league matches. He was a key player for the team during their time in Ligue 2.
However, in 2013, Sedan declared bankruptcy and was relegated to the amateur league. Sliti subsequently joined Paris FC, where he only played four national championship matches during the season, mainly featuring for the reserve team.
Red Star Years
In 2014, Sliti signed for Red Star, where he spent the next two seasons. In his first campaign, he netted eight goals in 28 matches, helping the club win the national championship and gain promotion to Ligue 2. Sliti continued to start for Red Star in the second tier, which they finished in 5th place.
Loan to Lille
In the summer of 2016, Sliti was loaned to Lille with an option to buy. He made his Ligue 1 debut on October 28, 2016, in a 0-1 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. A month later, he scored his first goal in the top division against Caen. Sliti has since made 11 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille.
International Career
Sliti made his international debut for Tunisia on June 3, 2016, in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Djibouti, where he scored a goal. He was part of the squad that participated in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, scoring goals against Algeria (2-1) and Zimbabwe (4-2).
