She specializes in various swimming events including the 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter freestyle, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay, and mixed 4x100 relay. In 2008, she became a member of the United States Olympic team.

Early Life and Swimming Career

From a young age, Natalie Coughlin displayed a keen interest in the water. Just a few weeks after her birth, her parents decided to bathe her in a small backyard pool. At 10 months old, she was enrolled in a swimming program. By the time she turned 5, Coughlin was already competing alongside professionals in various championships and competitions.

Joining the "Concord Terrapins" and National Competitions
