Biography of Naveen Andrews
Childhood and YouthNaveen William Sidney Andrews, a British actor, was born on January 17, 1969, in the Lambeth borough of London. His parents were immigrants from the Indian state of Kerala. There are conflicting reports about his parents' occupations. Some sources claim that his father, Stanley, was a businessman, while his mother, Nirmala, was a psychologist. Others suggest that his father worked on the railway and his mother worked at the post office. Andrews described his childhood as "very repressive" and at the age of 16, he ran away from home to escape constant insults and humiliation. He moved in with his 30-year-old math teacher, whom he was in a relationship with. Unfortunately, he had no further contact with his family, and they passed away without reconciling with him. However, the actor claimed to have found the strength to forgive his relatives.

Career
Andrews developed an interest in the arts from a young age and expressed his desire to pursue a career in the theater at the age of five. He attended Emanuel School and later enrolled in the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied alongside Ewan McGregor and David Thewlis. His education paid off when he made his film debut in the movie "London Kills Me" in November 1991. Two years later, he was nominated for the Evening Standard Drama Award for Most Promising Newcomer for his lead role in the comedy film "Wild West".

In November 1993, Andrews landed the lead role in the BBC mini-series "Buddha of Suburbia," which earned him a nomination at the Sanremo Film Festival. In 1997, he starred in the film "Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love" and continued to receive critical acclaim for his performances.

On September 22, 2004, ABC aired the pilot episode of the TV series "Lost," which attracted nearly 19 million viewers. Andrews' character, Said Jarrah, became a fan favorite, and he was named the sexiest survivor by People magazine in 2005 and the most beautiful person in the world the following year. Critiques hailed Jarrah as a worthy rival to characters like Jack Bauer, James Bond, and Jason Bourne. They noted that he played a significant role in the media portrayal of positive Muslim characters following the September 11 attacks.

In recent years, Andrews has appeared in various films and TV shows, including "Sinbad," "Diana," "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," and "Sense8." He also starred in Lana and Lily Wachowski's sci-fi series "Sense8," portraying the character Jonas Maliki. He then took on the role of Dr. Alex Cross in "Instinct," based on James Patterson's novel "Cross Kill."
Personal Life
Andrews has had a tumultuous personal life, struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. At the age of 16, he began a relationship with his math teacher, Geraldine Feakins, which lasted from 1985 to 1991. They had a son named Jaisal. In the late 90s, Andrews started dating his colleague Barbara Hershey, whom he met while working on the film "Drowning on Dry Land." They had an on-again, off-again relationship and finally separated for good in 2010.
During a break from his relationship with Hershey, Andrews had a child named Naveen Joshua with Elena Eustaffie, whom he fought for custody and eventually won on January 7, 2009.
Andrews openly discussed his struggles with addiction, recalling a time when he required emergency medical assistance after losing consciousness on a film set. However, he was glad to have overcome his vices for the sake of his son, stating in a 2005 interview, "I can't put into words how happy I am to finally lead a healthy lifestyle. I feel much happier now than before. In London, everyone is an alcoholic, but no one admits it. In the US, it is respected to be sober, let's just say it's even trendy."
Currently, details about Andrews' personal life are unknown as he refrains from social media. Fans can only find photos of him on numerous fan accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
