Early Life and Talent

Neil Robertson's passion for snooker began at a tender age. Growing up in a snooker hall managed by his father, he displayed remarkable talent early on. At 14, he achieved his first century break and by 17, he had reached the third qualifying round of the World Championship.

Breakthrough at Junior Level

In 2003, Robertson triumphed in the World Under-21 Snooker Championship held in New Zealand. This victory earned him a wildcard entry into the WPBSA Main Tour. Later that year, he secured a wildcard for the 2004 Masters by defeating Jimmy White 6-2.

Rise to Prominence

The 2004/2005 season marked Robertson's entry into the top 32. He reached the last 16 in six out of eight tournaments, despite facing multiple qualifying matches in each. At the 2005 World Championship, he reached the last 32 but lost to Stephen Hendry in the first round.

Maiden Ranking Title

The 2006/2007 season proved to be a career-defining one for Robertson. At the Grand Prix, he topped his group with just one loss and advanced to the quarter-finals, where he defeated Ronnie O'Sullivan 5-1. In the semifinals, he dispatched Alan McManus 6-2, setting up a final against Jamie Cope. Robertson emerged victorious 9-5, securing his first ranking tournament title.

Second Ranking Title and World Championship Quarterfinal

Momentum carried Robertson to another significant triumph at the 2007 Welsh Open. He defeated Ronnie O'Sullivan, Steve Davis, and Andrew Higginson en route to his second ranking title. At the 2007 World Championship, he reached the second round but lost to O'Sullivan 13-10.

Continued Success and World Championship Semifinal

Robertson's strong performances continued in the 2007/2008 season. He reached the semifinals of the Bahrain Championship in 2008 and the quarterfinals of the UK Championship in 2008. At the 2008 World Championship, he reached the second round of the final stages, losing to Stephen Maguire 13-7.
