Biography of Neil Shepard
Neil Shepard, a British economist, is currently a professor of Economics at the University of Oxford. He is also a member of the faculty at Nuffield College in Oxford and a member of the interdisciplinary research institute, Oxford-Man Institute.

Education and Early Life
Neil Shepard was born on October 8, 1964, in Plymouth, UK. He studied Economics and Statistics at York University, graduating in 1986. He earned a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the London School of Economics, where he also taught from 1988 to 1993.

Career
In 1991, Shepard joined Nuffield College at Oxford as a temporary research fellow, focusing on econometrics. He became a full-time research fellow in 1993 and held this position until 2006 when he was appointed as a professor of Economics at Oxford. From 2006 to 2007, he served as the Director of the Oxford Financial Research Centre. Along with Colin Mayer from the Said Business School, Shepard introduced the Masters in Financial Economics (MFE) program at Oxford. In 2007, he founded the Oxford-Man Institute and served as its director until 2011.
Recognitions
Shepard was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2006 and a member of the Econometric Society in 2004. He also became a member of Nuffield College in 1991. In 2009, Shepard was granted an honorary doctorate from Aarhus University.
