Early Life and Career

Neisi Dajomes, an Ecuadorian weightlifter, initially pursued gymnastics before transitioning to cheerleading at age 13. After four years, she ventured into CrossFit and eventually weightlifting at 17.

Early Successes

In 2015, Dajomes made her mark at the Pan American Games in Toronto, securing a silver medal in the 69kg category with a total lift of 225kg. Her Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Games saw her finish 7th in the same category with a total lift of 237kg.

International Recognition

Dajomes's breakthrough came at the 2017 Pan American Championships, where she claimed gold in the 75kg category with a lift of 241kg. That year, she earned a silver medal at the World Championships in Anaheim with a total lift of 240kg.

Continued Dominance

In 2018, Dajomes defended her Pan American championship title in the 75kg category, lifting a total of 248kg. At the World Championships in Ashgabat, she won a bronze medal in the snatch and a third-place finish overall with a total lift of 259kg.

Olympic Glory

2021 marked a historic moment for Dajomes as she triumphed at the Tokyo Olympics, lifting a total of 263kg (118kg in snatch and 145kg in clean and jerk) to claim the gold medal.
