Early Life and Club Career
Nemanja Vidić, a renowned Serbian footballer, was born in Užice, Serbia, on October 21, 1981, to Dragoje, a former copper factory worker, and Zora, a bank employee. He commenced his football journey at the tender age of 7, honing his skills alongside his older brother, Dušan, at their local club Jedinstvo Užice. A mere two-and-a-half years later, on the cusp of his 15th birthday, Vidić inked a youth contract with Red Star Belgrade. He made his professional debut in 2000, spending the 2000/2001 season on loan at Spartak Subotica. Upon his return to Red Star, he swiftly became a mainstay in the starting lineup, contributing significantly to the team's domestic success. After an impressive stint at Spartak, Vidić's talents caught the attention of Manchester United, one of the most prestigious clubs in the world. In January 2006, he completed a £7 million move to the English giants, where he would leave an enduring legacy.
Vidić's debut for United came in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final against Blackburn Rovers on January 25, 2006. His solid performance in the game hinted at the instrumental role he would soon come to play in the team's success. In the 2006/07 season, Vidić formed an unbreakable partnership with Rio Ferdinand at the heart of United's defense, becoming one of the most formidable defensive duos in English football. He scored his first goal for United against Wigan Athletic on October 14, 2006, and continued his scoring streak with a goal against Portsmouth at Old Trafford four days later.

In 2014, after eight trophy-laden years at Old Trafford, Vidić made the decision to join Italian club Inter Milan. However, his time in Italy was plagued by injuries and a diminished role in the team. He scored only one goal for Inter and eventually terminated his contract in January 2016.
At the international level, Vidić was an integral member of the renowned defensive quartet of the Serbia and Montenegro national team, alongside Mladen Krstajić, Ivica Dragutinović, and Goran Gavrančić. He played a pivotal role in the team's qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup but was unfortunately ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury.

Nemanja Vidić married Ana Ivanović, a Belgrade University economics student, on July 17, 2006. They have two sons, Luka and Stefan.
