Early Career and Lithuanian National Team

Nerijus Vasiliauskas, a Lithuanian footballer, began his professional journey at Žalgiris-2, the reserve team of Vilnius' Žalgiris, in the second division. In 1996, he joined the capital city's main club, where he played until 1999. Vasiliauskas represented Lithuania at the international level.

Russian and Polish Stints

In 2000, Vasiliauskas was loaned to Lokomotiv Nizhny Novgorod in Russia, where he made five appearances and scored a goal in the first half of the season. He then trialed with Zenit Saint Petersburg but was deemed too expensive for their budget. Vasiliauskas spent the second half of the season with Anzhi Makhachkala but did not make any appearances.

From 2001 to 2003, Vasiliauskas played for Wisła Płock in Poland, making only three appearances in the Ekstraklasa.

Ukrainian Adventure and Return to Žalgiris

In 2005, Vasiliauskas joined Tavriya Simferopol in Ukraine, where he made 39 appearances, scored four goals, and played in four cup matches. However, his playing time diminished significantly, and his contract was not renewed in 2007.

Vasiliauskas returned to Žalgiris in 2008 and played 11 matches, scoring three goals. He left the club mid-season to join Olympic Baku but ultimately chose to rejoin Vetrė in Lithuania.

Final Years

In 2009, Vasiliauskas had a brief stint with Khazar Lankaran in Azerbaijan before returning to Vetrė. He currently plays for Estonian club Kalev Sillamäe.
