Joseph S. Vartuli
Early LifeJoseph S. Vartuli was born in Phoenix, Arizona on August 27, 1979. He attended community college while still in high school and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington Adventist University in 1998. Inspired by libertarian ideas, he joined the Libertarian Party in 1999.
Education
Vartuli received his Juris Doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law in 2008.
Career
Before entering politics, Vartuli worked as a vice president at his family's used car dealership. He also gained experience as a deputy public defender in Colorado and in computer consulting and sales.
Libertarian Involvement
Vartuli has held various leadership positions within the Libertarian Party. He served as chair of the Libertarian Party of Maryland's state committee, vice chair of the Libertarian Party of Colorado, and on several national party committees.
Chairman of the Libertarian National Committee
On June 29, 2014, Vartuli was elected Chairman of the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) at the party's national convention in Columbus, Ohio. He has been re-elected to the position twice since then. During his tenure as LNC Chairman, he has advocated for libertarian principles and supported candidates running for office.
Other Notable Activities
In 2018, Vartuli ran for Mayor of Phoenix, finishing fourth with 10.5% of the vote. He remains an active and vocal proponent of libertarianism and a prominent figure in the Libertarian Party.
