Early Life and Education
Juan Ignacio Posse, an Argentine politician and industrial engineer, was born and raised in Buenos Aires. He pursued higher education at the prestigious Buenos Aires Institute of Technology, graduating in 1989. Notably, Posse furthered his studies at the renowned University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
Professional Career
Business VenturesPosse initially embarked on a career in the corporate world. He joined Molinos Río de la Plata and later became General Director of the duty-free department at Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, a subsidiary of Eduardo Eurnekian's American Corporation.
Infrastructure Projects
From 2009 to 2017, Posse led the Aconcagua Bioceanic Corridor Project, an ambitious plan to connect the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans via a high-tech railway corridor. It was during this project that he encountered Javier Milei.
Political Career
Role in Milei's Presidential CampaignIn July 2023, Posse took an unpaid leave of absence from his professional commitments to fully support Javier Milei's presidential campaign, representing the La Libertad Avanza party. As part of the Libertarian campaign, Posse orchestrated the technical teams of La Libertad Avanza.
Appointment as Chief of Cabinet
Following Milei's electoral victory, Posse played a pivotal role in coordinating the transition process. He participated in the first meeting between President-elect Milei and outgoing President Alberto Fernández at Quinta de Olivos to discuss the handover of government.
Chief of Cabinet of Argentina
On December 10, 2023, Juan Ignacio Posse officially assumed the position of Chief of Cabinet of Argentina. He served in this capacity until May 27, 2024, after which he resigned and was succeeded by former Minister of the Interior Guillermo Francos.
Personal Life
Posse is married and has one child. An avid sportsman, he has conquered the summit of Mount Aconcagua on multiple occasions and participated in several marathons.
