Early Life and Education

Nikolai Kryukov was born on January 20 (February 2), 1906. The brother of fellow composer V. N. Kryukov, he graduated from the Moscow Regional Musical College in 1932, where he studied composition under S. N. Vasilenko and A. V. Aleksandrov.

Early Career

In 1930–1931, Kryukov worked as an editor at All-Union Radio. From 1931 onward, he served as the musical director of the Mosfilm studio.
