Biography of Nikolai Milchev
Nikolai Milchev is a Ukrainian athlete, specializing in trap shooting, an Olympic champion, and a coach. He was born on November 3, 1967, in Odessa, Ukrainian SSR.

Early Life and Career
During his childhood, Nikolai was heavily involved in swimming and even achieved the first rank in the sport. Acquaintances predicted success for him in this field. However, at the age of 15, Milchev developed a passion for trap shooting and began training under the guidance of Albert Osipov. By the age of 17, Nikolai earned the title of Master of Sports, and at 24, he became an international-class master of sports. Although he had completed his education at Odessa State Trade and Economic College No. 17, which prepared individuals for the merchant fleet, Nikolai did not pursue a career in his field of study, as his sports career was blossoming.

Olympic Success and International Achievements
Nikolai Milchev gained worldwide fame through his victory at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. He won the gold medal in the "double trap" event, hitting all 150 targets (125 in the qualification round and 25 in the final), setting a world record that cannot be beaten but only matched. He became the first athlete to achieve such a result in the Olympic Games. In 2006, Milchev won a silver medal at a World Cup stage in Germany. In 2007, he emerged as the winner of a European Cup stage, and in 2009, he clinched the title at a World Cup stage in Egypt and won a bronze medal at a World Cup stage in Belarus. In 2016, he became a silver medalist at the World Cup Final in Italy.
Current Life and Coaching Career
Today, Nikolai Milchev resides in Odessa and works as a coach for trap shooting.
