Early Life and Career

Mykola Prysyazhnyuk was born on January 13, 1960, in Ksaveriv, Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine. After graduating from high school, he studied at a technical college in Kyiv and worked at the "Kryshtal" factory in Kyiv. From 1979 to 1981, Prysyazhnyuk served in the Soviet Armed Forces.

Entry into Government

In 2002, Prysyazhnyuk entered the civil service, becoming the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration. In 2003, he graduated from the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, obtaining a Master's degree in Public Administration. In 2007, he was awarded the 1st rank of civil servant.

Parliamentary Activity

In 2006, Prysyazhnyuk was elected to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's parliament) as a member of the Party of Regions. He served on the Committee on Environmental Policy, Natural Resource Management, and Elimination of Chernobyl Disaster Consequences.

In 2007, Prysyazhnyuk was elected Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations. He also served on the Temporary Investigation Commission on the Investigation of Circumstances Related to Ineffective Management of State Property in the Agro-Industrial Complex.

Minister of Agrarian Policy

On March 11, 2010, Prysyazhnyuk was appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine. On December 9, 2010, he was appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. He held this position until February 27, 2014, when he was dismissed by the Verkhovna Rada.

During his tenure as minister, Prysyazhnyuk implemented the "Agrarian Strategy of Ukraine," which outlined his vision for developing the country's agricultural sector and supporting Ukrainian producers. He established cooperation with China in the agricultural sphere and secured loans from foreign banks to finance Ukrainian agricultural producers.

Public Activities

Before entering politics, Prysyazhnyuk was involved in various charitable and public initiatives. From 2005 to 2006, he was the Chairman of the National Association of Meat and Meat Products Producers of Ukraine. From 1998 to 2002, he chaired the international charity fund "From the Bottom of My Heart," which provided assistance to more than 6,000 people.

Personal Life

Mykola Prysyazhnyuk is married to Tatiana Alexandrovna and has four children: Roman, Nikolai, Kristina, and Alina. He maintains close ties with Ukrainian businessman Yuriy Ivanyushchenko.
