Early Life
Nina Kauchtschischwili, an Italian literary scholar, was born into a family of Russian immigrants in an unspecified location. Her father was Georgian, and her mother was Russian. The family moved to Milan in 1940, where Nina Kauchtschischwili studied Russian literature at the Catholic University of Milan.
Academic Career
Kauchtschischwili established the Slavic Studies Department at the University of Bergamo in the 1960s and served as a professor there. In the 1990s, she was instrumental in organizing annual conferences on Russian spirituality at the Bose monastery.

Kauchtschischwili's research focused on Russian literature, social thought, and the interconnectedness of Russian and Italian culture.
