Early Life and Education

Born on October 27th, 1985, the Spanish journalist and politician studied journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid. She continued her education by earning a master's degree in journalism from the EFE agency and the King Juan Carlos University.

Journalistic Career

During the early stages of her career, she collaborated with various media outlets such as CNN+, Telemadrid, and Diario de Cádiz. After completing her master's degree, she served as an editor for the EFE agency in Buenos Aires.

Activism and Independent Journalism

From 2011 to 2013, she worked as the content manager for Agora News and established its Bogotá branch. During her time in Bogotá, she was also a communications advisor for the Bogotá Mayor's Office's Arts Institute (Idartes). She has been involved with the online publication elDiario.es and co-founded Hemisferio Zero.

Political Engagement and Elected Office

In 2014, she became the editor-in-chief and host of the show La Tuerka. In 2015, she led her party's list in Cadiz, Andalusia. Following the 2015 general elections, she was elected to the Congress of Deputies, where she was subsequently re-elected in 2016, 2019 (April), and 2019 (November).

Secretary of State for Equality

On January 14th, 2020, she was appointed Secretary of State for Equality and against Gender Violence within the Ministry of Equality. She assumed this role on January 31st, 2020, and is responsible for promoting gender equality and combating all forms of discrimination.
