Biography of Noelle Pikus-Pace

Early Life and Education

Noelle Pikus-Pace was born on December 8, 1982, in Provo, Utah. She is the youngest of eight children in her family. In middle school, sports became Noelle's main interest as she participated in basketball, softball, football, track and field, and even tried her hand at bobsledding and skeleton.

University and Sports Career

After graduating from high school in 2001, Noelle received a scholarship to attend the University of Utah, where she competed for the university's track and field team. During the summer of 2002, at the age of nineteen, Noelle got married to Janson Pace and transferred to Utah Valley State College, where she continued her studies in skeleton. In her first year, she became the third-place finisher in the America's Cup, broke the college record, and became the NJCAA champion.

Success in Skeleton

Noelle's strength and speed propelled her to become one of the best skeleton athletes in the world. In 2005, she won her first gold medal at the World Cup in Winterberg, Germany, and also earned a silver medal at the 2005 World Championships in Calgary. She was considered one of the top contenders for the 2006 Turin Olympics but was unable to compete due to an injury sustained during training. However, she made a triumphant comeback at the 2007 World Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland, winning a gold medal in women's skeleton and a silver medal in the mixed team bobsled/skeleton event.

Personal Life and Post-Sports Career

Noelle took a break from her sports career during the 2007-2008 season to give birth to her daughter, Lacey Lynn Pace, who was born on January 19, 2008. She returned to competitive skeleton in the 2008-2009 season, leading up to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where she finished fourth. Noelle was also recognized for her beauty, being listed as one of the twenty-five most beautiful athletes at the Vancouver Olympics by the American website Bleacherreport.

Outside of her sports career, Noelle is the CEO of SnowFir Hats LLC, a company that produces fur clothing. She graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in 2005 and completed her MBA at the Colorado Technical University in 2007. Noelle also maintains a blog where she shares about her life and posts numerous photographs.
