Oleg Seminsky: Ukrainian Entrepreneur and Politician

Early Life and Education

Oleg Seminsky, a Ukrainian entrepreneur and politician, was born on December 20, 1973, in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv Oblast. He received a master's degree in international business management from Kyiv National Economic University in 1998 and a degree in oil and gas engineering from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas in 2003.

Business Career

Seminsky's career in the business sector began in 1991 as a consultant with the "Geos" association. He held various roles in the following years, including consultant-translator at Dnipro Company (1993-1996), deputy director of foreign economic relations at FSN "Fistag-Victoria" (1993-1996), and economist at Ukrainian State Credit-Investment Company (1997).

In 1998, Seminsky moved to Gosinvest of Ukraine as a leading specialist in corporate governance, a position he held until 2000. He then served as acting chairman of the board at Ukrneftegaztekhnologiya from 2000 to 2003.

Seminsky's most notable business role was as General Director of Neftezgazdobycha from 2003 to 2011 and Chairman of the Board from 2011 to 2013. Neftezgazdobycha is the largest private gas production company in Ukraine.

Political Involvement

Seminsky entered politics in 2019, winning a seat in the Ukrainian Parliament as a member of the "Servant of the People" party. He represents the Desniansky and Novozavodsky districts of Chernihiv.

Kidnapping and Recovery

In 2021, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General's Office announced the successful resolution of Seminsky's kidnapping in 2012. He was the head of Neftezgazdobycha at the time.

Ownership of Neftezgazdobycha

Currently, DTEK owns 75% of Neftezgazdobycha, while Salazie B.V., owned by the Rudkovsky family, holds the remaining 25%. Seminsky retains ownership of this stake, which is estimated to be worth $150 million.

Philanthropy

Seminsky is actively involved in philanthropy, supporting various social initiatives. He is particularly involved with the charity foundation "Heart to Heart."

Float Glass Plant

Prior to his election to Parliament, Seminsky played a significant role in launching the construction of Ukraine's first float glass production plant.
