Biography of Oleg Shapovalov

Early Life and Education
Oleg Shapovalov was born on February 16, 1963, in the city of Izium, Kharkiv Oblast. He graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture in 1986, majoring in mechanical engineering. After graduation, he began working as a teacher of special disciplines at Izyum Polytechnic Technical School No. 61.

Political and Professional Career
In February 1988, Shapovalov started his career in the Komsomol and held various positions, including Secretary of the Izyum City Komsomol Committee and Head of the Department for Socio-Economic Issues and Youth Initiatives at the Kharkiv Regional Committee of the Komsomol. From May 1992, he worked at the "EPOS" conglomerate, initially as the Chief Specialist of the Property Insurance Department, and later as the Director of the Personal Insurance Department and Deputy Chairman of the Board. In February 1995, he became the Chairman of the Board and from November 1995 to July 1997, he served as the Vice President for Finance and Commerce and Chairman of the Board of the conglomerate.

In 1996, Shapovalov graduated from the Economics Faculty of the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, specializing in finance and credit. He then held various positions in the energy sector, including Deputy Chief of the Gas Complex Department and Deputy Head of Fuel Supply at the Energy Management Department and Deputy Head of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

From December 1997 to October 1998, Shapovalov worked as the Deputy Chief for Gas Accounting and Distribution in the Bezlyudivsky District of the "Kharkovgaz" gas supply company. He then served as the Deputy Chairman of the Board for Economic Affairs at "Kharkovgaz" from October 1998 to February 2000 and as the Director of the "Regiongaz" State Enterprise from February 2000 to January 2002. From January 2002 to January 2005, he was the Deputy Chairman of the Board for Gas Supply at "Kharkovgaz". In 2002, he also became a deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council.

In January 2005, Shapovalov was elected Deputy Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council, and in February, he became the Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council. He continued his political career, becoming a deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council in March 2006.

Political Involvement
Shapovalov has been a member of the "For Ukraine!" group of deputies since March 2009 and joined the "For Ukraine" party on January 31, 2010. He is also a member of Our Ukraine.

Awards and Recognition
Shapovalov has received several awards and honors throughout his career. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the III degree in 2009. In 2004, he was honored with the diploma and badge of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "For Merits to the Ukrainian People" and received the Order of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Archangel Michael. He has also been awarded honorary diplomas from Naftogaz Ukraine and the Kharkiv Regional Administration and Council.

On December 22, 2009, he was awarded the Honorary Sign of "Slobozhanska Slava" for his significant personal contribution to the development of the domestic energy industry and the socio-economic potential of the Kharkiv region.

Personal Life and Hobbies
Shapovalov is married and has dedicated himself to raising his daughter and son. He is the President of the Kharkiv Regional Parachuting Federation and the Parachuting Federation of Ukraine. He has set multiple Ukrainian records and has been a Guinness World Record holder since 2004. He has completed over a thousand parachute jumps and holds the "D" category in group acrobatics. Shapovalov is also a record holder in the "Large Formations" category in Ukraine.
