Biography of Olesya Abdullina
Early Life and CareerOlesya Abdullina is a Latvian and former Russian sportswoman in the field of Russian and international draughts. She was born and raised in Latvia. Abdullina achieved great success in her career, becoming a prominent figure in the world of draughts.
Achievements
Abdullina has won numerous accolades throughout her career. She became the bronze medalist in the World Blitz Draughts Championship held in Berlin in December 2009. She also won the bronze medal in the European Championship for International Draughts among women in the blitz category in Stockholm, Sweden in August 2009.
In addition, Abdullina has been crowned as the World Youth Champion in 2008 in Beijing and the World Girls' Champion in 2007 in France, both in the field of international draughts. She also emerged victorious in the 1st World Intellectual Sports Games for girls and has been a four-time European Champion among girls.
Career in Russia and Latvia
Abdullina represented the Russian national team in her earlier career. She was part of the "Bashneft" Professional Draughts Club from 2004 to 2011. Later, she moved to Latvia and currently plays for the Dobeles Prāta Sporta Kluba in Riga. Abdullina has also achieved significant success in national championships, winning the Russian Championship as a member of the Bashkortostan national team in 2009 and earning bronze medals in both the Russian and Latvian Championships in 2012.
International Recognition
Abdullina holds the title of International Master among women in international draughts. She has been a key member of the Latvian national team and previously represented the Russian national team.
Personal Life
Abdullina is married to Robert Misans, and they have a daughter named Malvina. The family currently resides in the city of Riga.
Coaching Career
Abdullina has also ventured into the field of coaching. Initially trained by Alexander Melnikov in Russia, she later formed a coaching tandem with senior coach Yuri Chertok and personal trainer Melnikov. Abdullina's coaching expertise has contributed to the development of aspiring draughts players. Abdullina completed her education at the Bashkir Institute of Physical Culture in Ufa, Russia. During her time there, she honed her skills and gained a solid foundation in the field of sports.
