Early Life and Education

Olga Bogomolets was born on March 22, 1966, in Kyiv, Ukraine, to a family of renowned medical professionals. Her mother was a professor of pathology, and her father was a doctor of medicine and head of clinical pathophysiology.

Bogomolets graduated with honors from Kyiv Medical Institute in 1989 with a degree in medicine. She completed a clinical residency at the Ukrainian State Institute for Advanced Medical Studies from 1989 to 1991. In 1993-1994, she studied environmental dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania and the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology in the United States.

Professional Career

Medical Experience:

1989-1991: Clinical resident and dermatologist at the Kyiv City Skin and Venereal Disease Dispensary

1991-1995: Senior research fellow at the Radiation Pathology Laboratory, Ministry of Health of Ukraine

1992-1994: Consultant dermatologist at the "Register" agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant zone

1995-2000: Head of the Histopathology Department at the Kyiv Regional Skin and Venereal Disease Dispensary

1997-2014: Founder and chief physician of the Kyiv Institute of Dermatology and Cosmetology

2000-2002: Dermatologist at the Kyiv City Skin and Venereal Disease Dispensary

2004-2005: Personal physician to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko

The Bogomolets medical dynasty is one of the oldest in Ukraine, dating back to the late 19th century. Bogomolets is a descendant of the ancient Lithuanian-Russian Oliferovich-Bogomolets family.
