Biography of Olga Rypakova

Olga Rypakova is a Kazakhstani track and field athlete specializing in long jump, triple jump, and heptathlon. She was born on November 30, 1984, in Oskemen, Kazakhstan. Rypakova attended the East Kazakhstan Regional Boarding School for Sports Talents and graduated in 2001.

Achievements

Rypakova has an impressive list of achievements in her career. She won the Olympic gold medal in triple jump in 2012 and became the world champion in indoor triple jump in 2010. She is also a world champion in long jump in 2010. Rypakova has won two gold medals in triple jump and heptathlon at the Asian Games and a gold medal in triple jump at the 2007 Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand. She has been awarded the title of Master of Sports of Kazakhstan for her outstanding performances.

Personal Life and Family

Rypakova is married to Denis Rypakov, a runner who won a silver medal in the 400m race at the 2003 World University Games in Taegu, South Korea. They have two children together, a daughter named Nastya and a son named Kirill.

Rypakova holds the Asian record in outdoor triple jump with a distance of 15.25 meters, which she achieved on September 4, 2010, in Split, Croatia. She has also set numerous national records in both long jump and triple jump.

Legacy and Honors

In recognition of her achievements, a sports center in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, has been named after Rypakova. Her husband, Denis Rypakov, serves as the director of the center. She has been honored with the Order of Barys and the Medal "20 Years of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan." Rypakova also holds the title of Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and received the Honorary Sign "For Merits in the Development of Physical Culture, Sports, and Tourism" in August 2015.
