Biography of Omkari Panwar
Omkari Panwar, the world's oldest mother of twins, resides in India. In 2008, at the age of 70, Omkari defied all odds and gave birth to a boy and a girl. This remarkable feat made her the oldest mother of twins, surpassing the previous record held by Adriana Iliescu from Romania and Carmen Bousada from Spain, both of whom were 66 years old at the time of giving birth. However, Omkari cannot officially confirm her age as she does not possess a birth certificate.

The Journey to Motherhood
Omkari's pregnancy was not an easy one. She endured eight months of discomfort, experiencing severe back pain and other complications. Despite these challenges, the twins developed normally, and Omkari underwent a cesarean section one month before the expected due date. Despite being premature, the babies survived, bringing immense joy to the Panwar family. Omkari and her husband, Charan Singh, who was 77 years old at the time, had longed for a son, as having a male heir is highly valued in Indian culture.

The Miracle of Parenthood
Charan Singh expressed his happiness, stating that his prayers had been answered and he could now die peacefully as a proud father. The couple had planned their pregnancy for years, saving money to undergo artificial insemination. Unfortunately, by the time the day arrived, Omkari had already turned 70. Despite objections from their village, the determined couple remained steadfast in their decision. Finally, their long-awaited son arrived, accompanied by a precious daughter.

Cultural Significance
In many parts of India, the birth of a daughter is not celebrated as much as the birth of a son. Daughters are traditionally married off, burdening the family with expensive dowries. Conversely, sons bring dowries from their wives' families. Some states even provide incentives for families to have more daughters, aiming for a more balanced male-to-female ratio. Despite facing criticism, Omkari and Charan Singh rejoiced in the birth of their son, knowing the cultural significance it held.
A Challenging Delivery
When Omkari was rushed to the hospital one month before her due date, her condition was critical. She experienced heavy bleeding and dangerously high blood pressure. Multiple blood transfusions and medications were required to save the lives of the mother and her twins. Surprisingly, the attending doctor remarked that Omkari appeared no older than 65 years, further adding to the astonishment surrounding her age.
Motherhood and Beyond
Omkari, unashamed of her age, prioritizes the well-being of her newborns. Despite becoming a record-breaking mother, she remains focused on caring for her children for as long as she is able. The emergency delivery went well, and Omkari and her ecstatic husband welcomed their twins. Though the details of their future remain unknown, it is certain that if Omkari Panwar had a birth certificate, she would be recognized as the world's oldest mother of twins.
