A Path of Service: Orit Lev
Orit Lev, a prominent Israeli politician, has dedicated her life to serving her country as a Member of Knesset (MK) from the Kadima party.
Early Life and Immigration
In 1971, Lev and her family made the momentous decision to repatriate to Israel. Upon their arrival, she underwent a religious conversion (giyur) and adopted the name Orit. Later, she took on her husband's surname.
Military Service and Civilian Work
Lev served with distinction in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), both during her compulsory service and afterwards. Her tenure in the army included a stint in the elite military intelligence division. Following her military career, she focused on supporting the integration of new immigrants into Israeli society.
Political Career
In 2003, Lev joined the municipal council of Kadima-Tzoran in the West Bank's Shomron region. She also served as a member of the governing board of the Jewish Agency for Israel (Sochnut). Her dedication to public service culminated in her election as an MK in 2009, representing the Kadima party in the 18th Knesset.
