Early Life and Education

Maria Ohisalo is a Finnish politician who was born in Helsinki, Finland, in 1985. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from the University of Helsinki in 1994 and a Doctorate in philosophy from the same university in 2007.

Political Career

Ohisalo has been a member of the Finnish Parliament since 2007, representing the Green League. She has held various positions within the party, including Deputy Chair and Chair of the Green League parliamentary group. Additionally, she has served as the party's chairperson in the capital city of Helsinki.

In October 2018, Ohisalo ran for the position of Chair of the Green League. However, she was defeated by Pekka Haavisto.
