Biography of Paolo Cannavaro

Paolo Cannavaro is an Italian football player and defender. He is the younger brother of Fabio Cannavaro. Cannavaro made his debut for Napoli in Serie A during the 1998-99 season at the age of 17. The following season, he moved to Parma, playing alongside his brother Fabio. He made his debut in a match against Lecce, coming on as a substitute for his brother.

In the 2001-02 season, Paolo was loaned to Verona, where he played 25 matches and scored his first career goal. After a year, he returned to Parma, where he spent most of his time on the bench, making appearances as a substitute for two seasons. In the 2004-05 season, Paolo became a regular player, playing 24 matches and scoring 4 goals.

In 2006, Paolo returned to his hometown club and helped them gain promotion to Serie A, where he currently plays. As of now, Paolo Cannavaro holds the record for the most matches played for Napoli since the club's promotion to Serie A in 2006. Additionally, he became the captain of the club after Francesco Montervino's departure to Salernitana in the summer of 2009.

In 2007, Paolo was called up to the national team along with his brother for a match against South Africa.
