Paul Robert Magocsi (1945-present) is an American-Canadian historian renowned for his extensive research on the history of Ukraine, Subcarpathian Rus', and various ethnic groups in Canada.
Early Life and Education
Born in New Jersey to a Hungarian father and a Carpatho-Rusyn mother, Magocsi grew up and received his education in the United States. He went on to become a professor of history and political science at the University of Toronto, where he also served as the head of Ukrainian Studies and the Ontario Multicultural History Society.
