Early Life and Career
Paul Pleiger was born on September 29, 1899, in Buchholz, Germany. He held leadership positions in various industrial concerns and actively supported the Nazi Party (NSDAP).
Rise in the Nazi Hierarchy
On April 10, 1938, Pleiger was elected to the Reichstag. In March 1941, he became chairman of the Reich Coal Association. He joined the board of directors of "Ostland Berg- und Huttengesellschaft" (a leading German metallurgical enterprise that monopolized Ukraine's ferrous metal industry) on August 24, 1941.
Close Association with Hermann Göring
As one of Hermann Göring's closest economic associates, Pleiger assisted him in managing the Four-Year Plan Administration. He led planning and production departments and was a representative of the "Hermann Göring" concern on the Imperial Armaments Council.
Leadership of Industrial Enterprises
Pleiger chaired the boards of several companies within the "Hermann Göring" concern, including:

Pleiger played a central role in exploiting natural resources in Ukraine and Belarus. He was the chief commissioner for coal mining in occupied territories and the imperial commissioner for industry in the eastern regions. He actively participated in organizing the deportation of Soviet citizens to forced labor in Germany.
Wartime Recognition and Trial
On March 10, 1943, Pleiger received the Knight's Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords. After the war, he was arrested and charged at the Wilhelmstrasse Trial. He was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison on April 11, 1949.
