Early Life and Education
Childhood and Family BackgroundPauline Chalamet was born on January 25, 1992, in New York City. Her mother, Nicole Flender, is a former Broadway dancer, while her father, Marc Chalamet, is an editor. Pauline has a younger brother, actor Timothée Chalamet, born three years later. Growing up in the artistic Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, she aspired to become a ballerina like her mother.
Dance and Theater Training
Pauline joined the School of American Ballet at the age of nine and trained there until 2010. She made her Broadway debut in 2002 in the production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." She also performed with the American Ballet Theatre. Her passion for theater was nurtured by attending musicals with her mother and watching films rented by her father on Saturdays.
