Serendipitously, he encountered professional boxer Jonathan Banks, who became a steadfast supporter. Working odd jobs and taking private lessons under renowned teacher Gary Austin, Lychnikov gradually gained a foothold in Hollywood.
American Citizenship and Breakthrough Roles
After obtaining American citizenship, Lychnikov's career took off. He found success in both film and theater. Notably, he played the telegrapher Blazanov in the critically acclaimed television series "Deadwood" and appeared in "The Big Bang Theory" and "Star Trek." Lychnikov's impressive filmography includes thrillers such as "Depicting God," "Slavery," and "Homeland," as well as blockbuster hits like "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and "Die Hard: Good Day to Die."
