Early Life and Club Career
Péter Disztl, a Hungarian footballer and current coach, began his journey in the youth clubs of Baja and Videoton. His professional debut came with Videoton in 1979, where he played from 1979 to 1987. In the 1984/85 season, he made history as a finalist in the UEFA Cup, where Videoton lost to Real Madrid in the final. After Videoton, Disztl represented Honved, East German clubs Rot-Weiss Erfurt and Leipzig, and Malaysian side Selangor in 1993. Returning to Hungary, he played for BVSC, Győr, Veszprem, Parmalat, and Haladas before concluding his career with Pecs Mecsek in 1997.
International Career
From 1984 to 1993, Disztl earned 37 caps for the Hungarian national team, participating in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Hungary finished third in their group, behind the USSR and France, but ahead of Canada.
Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Disztl transitioned to coaching, working as a goalkeeping coach for Videoton, Elore, Vasas, and the Hungarian national team. Since 2007, he has been involved in the Ferenc Puskas Academy.
