David Edward

David Edward is a Canadian-American philosopher and economist who holds dual citizenship. He is a prominent figure in left-libertarianism and has made significant contributions to the field.

Early Life and Education

Edward was born in Canada and earned his Bachelor's degree in philosophy from McGill University in Montreal in 1978. He went on to the University of Pittsburgh, where he obtained his Master's degree in 1981 and his Ph.D. in 1984.

Academic Career

After completing his doctorate, Edward began his teaching career at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, where he remained from 1984 to 1988. He then moved to the University of Virginia, where he taught from 1988 to 2003 and was promoted to full professor in 2000. Since 2003, Edward has been a professor at the University of Missouri.

Contributions to Left-Libertarianism

Edward is widely recognized as one of the leading proponents of left-libertarianism. He has published extensively on topics such as political theory, egalitarianism, and the philosophy of money. Notably, he co-edited the anthology "Origins of Left-Libertarianism: An Anthology of Historical Writings" with Hillel Steiner.
