Pietro Arcari: Italian Football Legend

Pietro Arcari was an Italian footballer who played as a right-winger. Born into a family of footballers, with both his brothers also playing the game, Arcari's career began with AC Milan. He made his debut for the Rossoneri on October 12, 1930, in a match against Alessandria, which Milan lost 3-0.

Club Career

After his time with Milan, Arcari moved to Genoa, where he played for 256 matches in Serie A, scoring 83 goals. In a particularly memorable match for Genoa against Fiorentina in March 1937, Arcari scored a goal that was initially disallowed by the linesman for offside. However, the referee overruled the linesman's decision and awarded the goal, leading to the linesman being dismissed and replaced.

Arcari later played for Serie C club Cremonese and ended his career with Napoli.

National Team

In 1934, Arcari was selected for Italy's FIFA World Cup squad. The Italians went on to win the tournament, but Arcari did not make any appearances for the national team.
