Biography of Priscilla Hill
Priscilla Hill is an American figure skater who is currently pursuing a coaching career. She is best known for her work with Johnny Weir, for which Hill received an award from the National Figure Skating Association in 2004.
Early Career
Priscilla Hill began her skating career as a singles skater and quickly made a name for herself. At the age of 11, she participated in the "adult" U.S. Figure Skating Championships, becoming the youngest participant in its history. In 1975, she became the first American figure skater to successfully perform a triple Rittberger at an international competition during the "Prague Skate" tournament.
Championship Success
Hill achieved success at the national level during the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1978, she won the bronze medal at the U.S. Championships, followed by a silver medal in 1981. However, her performances at the World Championships were not as successful, with her best finishes being 9th place in 1978 and 7th place in 1981.
Coaching Career
After retiring from competitive skating, Priscilla Hill turned her attention to coaching. Her most notable student is Johnny Weir, who she worked with extensively and helped him achieve great success in his career. In recognition of her coaching achievements, Hill received an award from the National Figure Skating Association in 2004.
In addition to working with Johnny Weir, Hill has coached numerous other skaters, including Ashley Wagner, Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov, Kathryn Hedford, Vanessa James, and many others.
Currently, Priscilla Hill continues to be involved in the world of figure skating as a coach, sharing her expertise and passion for the sport with the next generation of skaters.
