Slovak Skater with a Diverse Career
Early Career with BrotherOlga Beständigová, a Slovak figure skater, paired up with her brother, Jozef, to become a four-time Slovak champion and winner of the 2002 Ondrej Nepela Memorial.
Olympic Representation
Together, they represented Slovakia at the 2002 Winter Olympics, finishing 17th. They achieved consistent top-20 placements at the World Championships and placed within the top 10 several times at the European Championships.
Post-Olympic Split and Reunion
Following the 2002 Olympics, the pair split. Olga retired, while Jozef moved to the United States and attempted partnerships with other skaters. In the 2004-2005 season, the siblings reunited but only competed for one season due to lack of funding from the Slovak Figure Skating Federation.
Career Highlights after Skating
After retiring from competitive skating, Olga performed in various shows, including the Turkish television series "Buzda Dans" in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons. She won the second season alongside former Turkish footballer Ilhan Mansız.
Preparation for Sochi Olympics
In 2010, Mansız announced that he and Olga were training for the Sochi Olympics in pairs figure skating. They intended to represent Turkey under the guidance of renowned German coach Alexander König.
